FAQ

Common birthday parties questions.

Can the menu be themed to the birthday guest?

Yes. Bartenders develop a custom signature cocktail built around the birthday guest's favorite flavors, color palette, or party theme. Recipe cards can be printed as a keepsake.

Will you ID guests at a 21st-birthday party?

Bartenders are independently responsible for complying with California law on serving minors and visibly intoxicated guests, including the birthday guest. Filter for RBS certification when your venue requires it.

How many bartenders do I need for a birthday party?

It depends on both the headcount and the drinks list. As planning guidance for about 3 hours of service: up to 50 guests, 1 bartender; 51–75 guests, 1–2; 76–100 guests, 2; 101–150 guests, 2–3 for beer, wine, and ready-to-drink service, or 2–4 when the menu is cocktail- or mocktail-led. Larger parties scale from there. The Smart Staffing Calculator recommends a bartender count from your guest count, service hours, beverage menu, and event type. Above 75 guests it recommends at least two.

Can you do a kid-friendly party with a separate NA bar?

Yes. NA-only stations for kids and a separate cocktail bar for the adults is a common setup for milestone birthdays where the whole family shows up.

Do you provide the alcohol?

Hosts purchase the alcohol; the Stock List generates an ingredient-level shopping list. We provide the bar, glassware, ice, garnish, and tools.

California's Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) rules apply to alcohol servers at ABC-licensed premises, and certification is valid for three years. Private events at unlicensed locations are generally outside that requirement, but your venue or caterer may have its own rules — check with them. RBS is not required to join bartendersNow™. Bartenders upload their own certification details to their profile, and you can filter for it. We do not verify certifications. Bartenders are independently responsible for complying with California law on serving minors and visibly intoxicated guests.
