What bar service is like in Bay Area.
Venue norms shift as you move around the Bay. A city rooftop or a Peninsula corporate campus often comes with a certificate-of-insurance request and a loading-dock schedule; an East Bay backyard or a Wine Country estate is more likely to be an open canvas where the bartender brings the whole bar. A licensed winery, hotel, or restaurant carries its own alcohol rules on top of yours.
That variety is why the platform leads with planning tools rather than one fixed package. One region, real distances

Why the closest bartender isn't always the answer
A slightly farther bartender who is the right fit for your event isn't ruled out by geography alone. For longer trips a bartender may price mileage into the event through Smart Travel Economics, and any travel fee is shown in your estimate before you commit — so there are no surprises on the day.
Bridges, parking, and load-in
Bridge tolls, city parking, and a downtown load-in window are the practical costs of a regional booking. Sorting them out while you build the event — not the night before — is the difference between a smooth setup and a bartender circling the block with a car full of glassware.

Can one bartender cover an event that spans two Bay Area cities?
It depends on the event, not the map. A single bartender can move between, say, a ceremony and a reception in two nearby cities when the timeline allows, but a tight turnaround across a bridge changes the math. Host booking opens soon. Do bartenders travel across the bridges for Bay Area events?
Many do, and many set a travel radius or a travel fee for longer trips. Each profile shows the areas a bartender serves, and travel is something you confirm in the request before you commit — the platform doesn't assign a bartender to a city, you choose who to invite.
Is RBS certification required at a Napa winery or a licensed Bay Area venue?
Licensed premises — a winery, a hotel, a restaurant — are exactly where California's rules bite, and they turn up all over the Bay Area. Here is how RBS works and what the platform does and does not check. California's Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) rules apply to alcohol servers at ABC-licensed premises, and certification is valid for three years. Private events at unlicensed locations are generally outside that requirement, but your venue or caterer may have its own rules — check with them. RBS is not required to join bartendersNow™. Bartenders upload their own certification details to their profile, and you can filter for it. We do not verify certifications. Bartenders are independently responsible for complying with California law on serving minors and visibly intoxicated guests.
How many bartenders do I need for a Bay Area event?
