Coverage
Where Sonoma County bar service reaches.
Sonoma County spans the wine towns of Sonoma and Healdsburg, the county-seat scale of Santa Rosa, and the more agricultural, everyday footprint of Petaluma and Sebastopol.
Sonoma County is wider and more mixed than its wine-country reputation suggests. Alongside the estate weddings and tasting-room celebrations, it has a real year-round calendar of hometown events — a Santa Rosa corporate party, a Petaluma backyard milestone, a Sebastopol farm dinner. That range is the point of a county page: it routes a host to the town they are actually in rather than assuming every Sonoma event is a vineyard.
Distances here are longer than they look on a map, and the county's spread means the useful question is rarely who is closest — it is who is set up for your kind of event and willing to make the drive. Every profile shows the bartender's rates and the areas they serve, and you see an estimate built for your event before you send a request.
On the ground
What bar service is like in Sonoma County.
Service ranges from polished tasting-room and estate events to open-canvas backyards, barns, and farm properties where the bartender brings the entire bar. Outdoor and shoulder-season events are common, so a plan for weather, power, and water at a rural site is part of a good Sonoma booking rather than a surprise on the day.
Wine towns and working towns, one county
A Healdsburg estate wedding and a Santa Rosa office party are different jobs with different norms. Start from the event you are planning and the town it is in, and the page routes down to that city rather than a generic wine-country template.
Rural sites and real distances
Barn, farm, and ranch venues often sit well outside town with limited power and water, and a bartender may fold the longer drive into the event. Any travel fee is shown in your estimate before you commit, so the distance is priced up front.

FAQ
Sonoma County bartender questions.
Do you cover events outside the Sonoma wine towns?
Yes — Sonoma County service is not just Sonoma and Healdsburg. Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and Sebastopol each have their own city page for the town you are actually in.
How many bartenders do I need for a Sonoma County event?
It depends on the headcount, the hours, and the drink menu — a farm dinner for forty and a winery reception for a couple hundred staff very differently. Host booking opens soon. The Smart Staffing Calculator recommends a bartender count from your guest count, service hours, beverage menu, and event type. Above 75 guests it recommends at least two.
Is RBS certification required at a Sonoma winery or licensed venue?
Licensed premises — a winery, tasting room, hotel, or restaurant — are where California's rules bite, and they are common across the county. Here is how RBS works and what the platform does and does not check. California's Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) rules apply to alcohol servers at ABC-licensed premises, and certification is valid for three years. Private events at unlicensed locations are generally outside that requirement, but your venue or caterer may have its own rules — check with them. RBS is not required to join bartendersNow™. Bartenders upload their own certification details to their profile, and you can filter for it. We do not verify certifications. Bartenders are independently responsible for complying with California law on serving minors and visibly intoxicated guests.
