California Alcohol Service Laws for bartendersNow™ Professionals
California requires alcohol servers and their managers at ABC-licensed establishments to hold current Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification through the state ABC; private, unlicensed events generally do not require it. Service to anyone under 21 is prohibited under Business & Professions Code §25658.
