Why Verify Insurance?
bartendersNow™ connects you with independent contractor Bartenders who choose to maintain independent business insurance. The platform does not verify this coverage.
Verifying insurance protects you from:
- Liability if a guest is injured
- Property damage claims
- Alcohol-related incidents
- Costs if the Bartender is uninsured
What to Request
Ask your Bartender for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) showing:
Required Coverages
| Coverage Type | Minimum Amount |
|---|---|
| General Liability (per occurrence) | $1,000,000 |
| General Liability (aggregate) | $2,000,000 |
| Liquor Liability (per occurrence) | $1,000,000 |
| Liquor Liability (aggregate) | $2,000,000 |

How to Verify
Step 1: Request the COI
Message your Bartender through the platform: "Please send me your current Certificate of Insurance before the event."
Step 2: Review the Document
Check the items listed above. If anything seems unclear, ask your Bartender for clarification.
Step 3: Call the Carrier (Optional but Recommended)
For events with significant risk, call the insurance carrier directly:
- Use the phone number on the certificate
- Verify the policy is active

- Ask if claims have been filed
Step 4: Document Your Verification
Keep a copy of the COI for your records.
